To make a better world

This Little Light is a project based on the simplest of ideas; hope. Inspired by a song known the world over it is nothing more than a promise to shed a little light on the positivity we all hold to make our world a better place. Without grand gesture it can sometimes seem impossible to make a difference but despite the difficulties there is always a way, a way to open the eyes of those around us to the passion and belief we all hold. Often it's buried and forgotten, under ambition or worry, dampened by skeptics and out of place in a society where success is almost always defined by how wealthy you are, but dig deep enough and that tiny flame will still be burning.

The desire to make even the smallest difference is something I've never managed to shake and something I believe should be encouraged in us all, no matter what the situation. It is these things coupled that have led me to begin This Little Light.

It has nothing of grandeur, and no money will be spent turning it from the realm of simple dream into reality. It relies on no clever marketing campaign, nor on an all star cast, instead on the age old principle that unshakable faith and the human spirit will always be enough to keep on going. This Little Light relies on you, the people that know about it, the people with the power to make it happen.

The simplicity it holds is the key to what I hope will be it's success, a success that unlike so many other things will only be judged on how many people it reaches, it's sole intention to spread a little joy. There is no limit to how many people can take part, all This Little Light asks is that those who take part believe in the cause, nothing more.

What will start out as hidden individual thoughts, goals, and dreams will merge into one captivating film, one that will be uploaded and then left alone. There will be no promoting and no advertising for a discovery is all the more special for finding it of your own accord and This Little Light deserves to be as special in completion as it will be in sentiment.

The promise of both making a change and maintaining the hope needed to make it a possibility are things that I hope will drive the project forward and enchant those that take part as only openness and free spirited subjects can.

Most of all This Little Light is about capturing the moment in which we live, just as it is, without anything else, on the understanding that life in it's natural state has enough charm alone. It aims only to show the positives alongside the negatives and the dreams of tomorrow that both conjure within us.

Being a part of the project is simple. It asks only one question; what one thing do we need to make a better world? The question is open to interpretation, meaning the answer can be as carefree or as contemplative as you wish. Anything from an idea that would change society as we know it to something small that would make your own life a little easier.
